Sky High Hot Air Balloon Festival

Hot Air Balloon

It’s a bird! It’s a plane. It’s a… hot air balloon? Yep, the sky is going to be full of hot air balloons at the 20th Annual Hot Air Balloon Festival. The festival will be at Callaway Resort and Gardens in Pine Mountain on Aug. 31 to Sept. 2. This Labor Day weekend event is perfect for families, so get tickets for the entire crew. General admission tickets start at $24.95 for adults and $14.95 for children and will give you access to all kinds of fun.

Just what can you expect if you attend the festival? The days will be packed with family-friendly events, and quite a few of them stand out.

Tethered Hot Air Balloon Rides

Have you always wanted to go up in a hot air balloon? Do it in the safest way possible by taking a tethered hot air balloon ride. This is great for people of all ages. You’ll soar up in the air, but you’ll be tethered to the ground the entire time. It’s such a rush that you’ll want to do the real thing at some point.

Balloon Glow

The festival has a balloon glow every night. Propane burners keep hot air balloons inflated with air. These burners are ignited when the balloons are tethered to the ground, and the balloons glow. It’s like looking out at a field of huge lightbulbs. You’ll want to take your camera out for this event. It’s truly magical, and you’ll want to capture it so you can relive it later.

The Car Show

Don’t let the name fool you. This festival is about more than balloons. Take the car show, for instance. That’s always one of the most popular events at the festival, and it’ll be back again this year. There will be an assortment of classic cars on hand, and you can walk around and view them all. This is a fun way to spend the day.

Disc Dog Demonstrations

Do you love dogs? If so, you absolutely cannot miss the disc dog demonstrations. Watchdogs soar through the air to grab frisbees during these demonstrations. You just might want to teach your dog how to improve his athletic skills after watching the competition.

You’re going to drive back and forth to the festival all Labor Day weekend. It’s in Pine Mountain, so you’ll have a little bit of a drive. Make that drive more fun by getting a new vehicle from Hennessy Automotive Group in Atlanta, Georgia. Then, you’ll have a blast every time you take off in your vehicle.
