Prepare yourself: The eighth annual Music in the Park is scheduled for Sunday, April 22, this year! Georgians will be taking the musical celebration to the streets since this is an open street event stretching across a mile of Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard.
From 2–6 p.m., the street will be opened to people and closed to vehicle traffic. During the celebration, the route will be connected at Gordon White Park via the Westside Trail to offer an extra two miles for safe skating, biking, walking, and jogging.
Come prepared to enjoy a variety of activities hosted by local businesses and community organizers. And, don’t forget to check out the live music on the various performance stages! Recipients of the Westside Trail Community Health Grant will give a presentation on their innovative programming that promotes the usage of the trail, improves health outcomes, and increases physical activity.

For those who aren’t much of a musician, there are other ways to be involved in Music in the Park Atlanta other than simply attending the event. Each year, this event’s made possible through the kind assistance of volunteering. Volunteering is a great way to support events you’re especially interested in. But it’s also a great way to bring a little pride, accomplishment, and satisfaction into your life.
Volunteers are needed for merchandise tables, runners, stage support, hosting, ticket takers, and many other tasks. If you’re interested in helping out during the event, there’s a volunteer form you can fill out.
