Don’t you just love spending time in the great outdoors? That’s especially true when you can explore nature. That’s easy to do when you hit a Georgia nature trail. The state is full of some amazing trails, and these are the best of the best.

Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve

The Davidson-Arabia Nature Preserve is located in nearby Lithonia. The 2,500-acre preserve has trails, historic sites, and creeks. Plus, it offers panoramic views of nature. You will spot rare plant species, rock formations, wetlands, and more as you hike along the miles of trails at this preserve. Your dog also come along to hike with you, or you can bring your mountain bike and bike along the multi-use trails.

Reynolds Nature Preserve

The Reynolds Nature Preserve is located close to Atlanta in Morrow, Georgia. This is seriously one of the most gorgeous nature preserves around. The 146-acre preserve includes spring-fed ponds and huge trees. The large oak and pine trees will keep you cool as you walk along the preserve. This site has three miles of looped trails you can use. You can tackle all the trails at once or just go on a single loop.

Be sure to visit the nature center before you head home. It has environmental displays, and you can even see some native animals inside.

Anna Ruby Falls Recreation Area

If you find yourself in Helen, Georgia, be sure to visit Anna Ruby Falls Recreation Area. This spot is more about the view than the hike. The recreation area contains twin waterfalls. One of the falls comes from Curtis Creek, and the other comes from York Creek. The two come together and form Smith Creek. You can easily reach the waterfalls by taking a half mile hike down an interpretive trail. It will take you to the base of the falls, where you can admire them from a viewing area.

If you want to stretch your legs even more, you can take one of the other hiking trails at this recreation area. You’ll also want to stop by the visitor’s center when you’re there.

You’re going to spend a lot of time hiking the trails this summer, and when you’re done, you’re going to be tired.
